About Research 2.0

Research 2.0 has grown out of over 23 years of emerging technology research and investment experience. Our key insights were forged during the rise of SoundView Technology Group fueled by intimate working relationships with Gartner Group and Forrester/Giga. Our ability to combine fundamental industry research with expertise and financial analysis to provide business and stock insights around emerging technologies is unique.

The company was in development mode during 2005 and started operations at the start of 2006. In May of 2007 the company expanded hiring and operations and has grown rapidly since then to count over 400 subscription clients and nearly a dozen advisory customers. We are continuing to build our a team of analysts, researchers, editors and business managers to provide a special brand of research that is demanded by decision-makers and institutional investors. Our expert program adds individuals who provide background and depth into commercial adoption trends and investment implications.

New technology platforms and services enable us to deliver our products at far greater speed and efficiency than what is possible for traditional industry or investment research firms. Rather than having a highly structured set of offerings we are focused on maximizing what we call the return on research (RoR) for both Research 2.0 and our clients.

Our current client mix is 50% senior technology company managements, 25% institutional investors and 25% venture capitalists.

In 2008 we are introducing a fully interactive platform for our advisory clients to allow them to work with us as insiders in our research process instead of the old-fashioned publishing model. This approach enables effective collaboration and provides easy access to additional services.

Our overarching business goal is to maximize our total economic return from research and go so far as to publish the performance of our Recommended List and invest our own funds in the best ideas we can find.

We maintain a rambling FAQ that elaborates on the company and aspects of how we think about the research industry.
